"See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven." --Matthew 18.10

One of the ways Chistchurch works to enrich the lives of young children in our community is through the Chi Rho Kids Pre-School Program. Through entertaining education classes, the teachers and volunteers help foster emotional, physical and mental skills that will be needed so these young children can participate fully and successfully in kindergarten. Chil Rho Kids also learn about the teachings of Jesus and His abundant love for them.
Classes are held Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Christchurch. Hope Mardre is the Program Director and also serves as one of the teachers. Elizabeth Clements also serves as a teacher. The two teachers are assisted by Kelly Oates.

There are many other volunteers who help with this program. Beverly Stabler assists Kelly in the classroom during our monthly Parent Program; Diane Bailey is on hand to capture all the memories through photographs; Dee Mooty teaches music; and Tonya Speed of Tonya Speed's Dance Connection offers dancing and gymnastics lessons. In addition to those who are regular volunteers, we are thankful to many others in the Christchurch parish who have provided funding and supplies for parties and special events.

Parent Enrichment Tuesdays are held each month to help parents or active caregivers for each child. During these sessions, we encourage and work to inspire them in their roles. During these sessions, while they learn additional parenting skills, we also help them experience Christ in new and exciting ways.
While the children work in the classroom, their parents learn new ways of helping their children through presentations and activities with our teachers or from guest speakers. Monthly updates on the class; opening devotions and Families Reading Together presentations are part of each month's program. |
Each session also provides them with a new children's book and reinforcement activities that compliment the story. "It is amazing to see God at work in the lives of the children's parents during this time," says Hope Mardre. Parents receive awards for taking positive action in their child's life. Refreshments and door prizes all help make the Parent Enrichment a time of enjoyment as well as learning.

Once children complete their Chi Rho Kids experience, our teachers try to encourage and support families in finding the school that best meets their child's needs. Montgomery Christian School, a ministry of Trinity Presbyterian Church, is an exciting option offered to every Chi Rho Kids graduate.
Chi Rho Kids is a living picture of how we can be Christ's hands and feet. Come join this exciting ministry and share your God-given talents with the Chi Rho Kids.
