"Feeds" allow your computer to automatically download audio and video files from your favorite church or other web site provider as soon as the new files are posted. All you have to do is subscribe (it's free).
If you want to keep things simple, you can just go to our
Message Archive page and click on the "Listen Now" icon for the sermon you want to hear. There's no need to worry about feeds (whew!) For our more advanced users that like automatic delivery of Christchurch content, these feeds are provided.
A Podcast Feed can be used with Podcatching software such as iTunes to automatically download the latest media files to your iPod or other portable music player.
An
RSS Feed can be used with RSS Reader software to get news, blogs, or, in this case, media automatically delivered to you through your RSS Reader's interface.
Do I need an iPod?
You do not need an iPod to take advantage of podcasting. By having messages downloaded to your computer, you can burn them to CD to share with friends, listen through your computer speakers, or transfer to your iPod. Several of our parisioners use an iPod or other mobile MP3 player to listen to sermons on their morning walks or while they're on the treadmill. Earplugs come with the MP3 players, but some people buy portable adapters that allow them to play the sermons on their iPods through the speakers of their car sound system or through speakers on their desk at home or work.
Listening to a podcast while exercising, working in the garden or just sitting on the patio is, in the words of the apostle Paul, a great way to redeem time. (Ephesians 5:16).
