Music Director
Margaret Cauthen
Music is a vital part of worship at Christchurch. On Sunday's you can expect to hear music from the piano harpsichord, or an acoustic guitar and keyboard. The role of music grows out of our need to express ourselves in gratitude and praise to our Creator. Equal attention is paid to those elements of the liturgy that are led by the choir and those sung by the congregation.
Contemporary and Ancient
Music at Christchurch draws from centuries of compositional styles. In any given week, our choir may sing a plainsong chant, Baroque anthem, or music composed in recent years up to the present day. One service may find us singing the ancient Kyrie Elesion, as well as Amazing Grace, a Taize song such as The Lord Is My Light and the more contemporary How Great Is Our God; Lord I Lift Your Name On High; Shout To The Lord, or Surely The Presence Of The Lord Is In This Place.
The Christchurch Chancel Choir
The chancel choir is our adult choir made up of singers who love the art of choral music. They sing at the 9:30 a.m. worship service each Sunday.
Mid-Week Services
On Wednesday evenings, our Christchurch Worship Band leads us in an extended time of contemporary praise, worship and prayer.
